Lake View Studios is Homestay accommodation offering Best Value for Money in the western suburbs of Nairobi – in a beautiful, safe and secure, private gated home environment – in a safe and secure gated community – in a safe and secure walking neighbourhood – with 24/7 security.

Lake View Studios are in separate units, each with their own private ground-floor entry, kitchenette and private ensuite bathroom. The Studios are of different sizes, and configurations, each with its own unique design and flavor, and organized as “self-catering”.

The Studios have certain standard features, including double-bed with mosquito net, clothing cupboards, work desk, equipped kitchenette (oven, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker), and closets for cutlery and crockery. Some of the larger Studios have twin-beds with mosquito nets too.

Some of the Studios can be interconnected, enabling members of a group, such as a family, to move easily between the Studios as desired. This is a particularly safe and secure arrangement for families with young children.

Lake View Studios are conveniently situated near U.N. offices and other international agencies, and major amenities and shopping malls; and just 5 km from Westlands and Village Market shopping centres, and only 10 km from downtown Nairobi.

The Studios are ideal for visitors on short stays in Nairobi for business, leisure or other purpose.

(1) Accommodation is by advance confirmed reservation. Minimum stay: 2 nights. No walk-in. The first night rate, excluding extras, is required as deposit. If multiple Guest Studios are booked in a single reservation, then each Guest Studios’ first night rate will be charged. The full booking balance is due on the day of arrival.

(2) “Cashless” is our preferred mode of payment – via direct Bank transfer, M-PESA, major Bank Credit Cards, or Payments Online on this secure website. The indicative exchange rate applied for the US dollar (USD) is what is published by the Central Bank of Kenya (https://www.centralbank.go.ke/forex) for the value of the Kenya shilling (KES) on the given day.

(3) Change of Reservation dates is possible depending on availability.

(4) The deposit will be refunded according to the cancellation conditions.

(5) The booking can be cancelled up to 2 days before arrival and any deposit/prepayment refunded.

(6) In the event of cancellation the day before, or on the day of expected arrival, or of no show, or of booking reduction (early departure), the full cost of the booking is charged.

(7) If guest wishes to extend his/her stay, notice has to be given three (3) days in advance (in writing). Consideration will be given for prolonging stay provided there is availability.

Check-in: After 12:00 hours and until 22:00 hours.
Guests shall make prior arrangement if they expect to arrive earlier than 12:00 (noon) or later than 22:00 hours.

Checkout: Before 11:00 hours. A surcharge may be imposed for early check-in and late check-out.

It is lawful requirement in Kenya that  the licensee shall keep a register of particulars of every guest [Tourism Act, 2011. Tourism Regulatory Authority Regulations, 2014. Section 27: Register and Book to be kept by licensee].

Accordingly, all guests shall present their Kenya ID or national passport at check-in as well as other relevant information required for the register. Guests must be 18 years or older with Kenya ID or national passport to reserve or check in at Lake View Studios.

Guests without proper ID documents shall not be checked in at Lake View Studios. Visitors of guests shall present their Kenya ID or national passport.

Lake View Studios source is Nairobi City Water. We maintain a number of storage tanks to stabilize supply. 

Our installed water storage capacity is more than adequate for all our property’s needs for at least a week in the event of temporary City water supply interruption. 

Lake View Studios laundry policy is based on conserving water. Hence, we actively promote water conservation on our property. 

We have placed stickers in appropriate places with the message “Water is Life” – to remind and urge our guests to conserve water. We capture and conserve rain water for watering our gardens.

We encourage our guests to accept bedsheet changes every third night, and to re-use their bath and hand towels at least twice before laundering. Successful implementation of this policy of course requires a cooperative effort from both the guests and our staff. In the majority of cases guests are cooperative.

Guests who wish to use our Laundry Service can complete the Laundry Request Form found in the Guest Information folder.

Kenya has strict anti-smoking laws. Tobacco Control Act (2007) states that “no person shall smoke in restaurants, hotels, bars or other eating place; except in designated smoking areas”.

All Lake View Studios are smoke-free. Smoking is absolutely forbidden inside the Studios. Smoking is allowed only in the designated outdoor areas. Any guest contravening the smoking law and Lake View Studios smoking policy makes himself/herself liable to lawful action under the Tobacco Control Act. Also, he/she may be asked to leave Lake View Studios without refund, and surcharged a cleaning fee equivalent to two nights stay.

Free Internet connection via fibre optic is available at Lake View Studios as an amenity. Our Hotspot Wi-Fi management software assures a better guest experience. Its features include user authentication and authorization, bandwidth management and relevant security protocols to deter unauthorized access and malicious activities.

By using Lake View Studios network to connect to the Internet, guest agrees to our Terms of Use.

Our Terms of Use:
– Guest abiding by acceptable Internet use policies, which include responsible and ethical use of the Internet, and guest not using our network for any unlawful purposes, as defined by the laws of Kenya.
– Guest abiding by our Fair Use policy.

Our Fair Use policy aims at ensuring that all guests have a fair and reasonable access to the available bandwidth. Conversely, the policy aims to ensure that no any one guest consumes excessive bandwidth, to the disadvantage of others in the network.

To maintain serene surroundings and especially a quiet and sleep-conducive environment, Lake View Studios has zero tolerance noise policy.

As a noise abatement measure, and in compliance with Lakeview Estate Residents’ Association (LERA) requirements, Lake View Studios standby generators will not be operated after 23h00 during periods of Kenya Power outage.

Lake View Studios will issue a warning to offending guest(s) if there is a noise complaint. If there is a second complaint, the offending guest(s) will be asked to leave Lake View Studios with no refund.

There is zero tolerance policy to drunkenness. And no illegal substances are permitted at Lake View Studios. A violation will result in immediate expulsion from Lake View Studios and the involvement of law enforcement.

Types of lost and found incidents include: (1) Mislaid property – the owner has unintentionally left the items behind. (2) Lost property – the owner has unintentionally left the items behind, then forgotten them. (3) Abandoned property – the items were intentionally left behind by the owner.

Lake View Studios will maintain a record of lost and found items and of the efforts by staff to contact and return the items to the owners.

Valuable items, such as luggage, will be kept only for 24 hours, and disposed of thereafter for safety and security reasons. Lake View Studios will not be held responsible for any missing or damaged items inside the luggage. Non-valuable items will be kept for 1-2 days. Non-valuable items include items in paper or plastic bags. Perishable items will be disposed of immediately after guest has checked out. Perishable items include food and food items.

Guests shall be held liable for any loss of or damage to property of Lake View Studios incurred by them. The establishment reserves the right to charge guest’s account commensurate to the cost of such loss or damage.

(1) Pets are not allowed. Only registered guide dogs may be permitted by prior arrangement. 

(2) Guests may not bring their own pillows, bed sheets, duvets or other items of bedding. 

(3) Guests are not allowed to bring their own electrical appliances and/or equipment for heating and/or cooking purposes. 

(4) Parties, events or social gatherings are not allowed on the premises. 

(5) Any person visiting a staying guest must register with their Kenya ID or national passport. 

(6) Any person sleeping over must register with their Kenya ID or national passport and the lead guest will be charged for the night(s) (at the appropriate tariff, e.g., as Double).

(7) No walk-in.

Lake View Studios exercises all reasonable care in providing its staff and its guests a safe and secure environment.

Nevertheless, guests are expected to observe, abide by, conform to and be bound by all applicable Kenyan laws, rules and regulations in force from time to time.

Although Lake View Studios is a safe and secure environment, guests are advised to take care of their personal belongings as Lake View Studios do not assume responsibility for personal property lost or damaged that has not been handed over to the Front Desk for safe keeping.
